2025 Election of Trustees | Candidate Nomination Results

Nominations for the 2025 Trustees of Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust Boards officially closed at 12 noon, Friday 31st October 2025.

One representative is required for each of the hapū communities up for rotation and the result of the nominations are as follows.

• Ngāi Tukairangi/Ngāti Kuku

  • NGATAI, Thomas

  • NGATUERE, Awhina

As we have only received the required number of nominations for Ngāi Tukairangi ki Hungahungatoroa, Ngāi Tamawahriua ki Te Rereatukāhia, Ngāi Tuwhiwhia ki Opureora, Te Whānau a Tauwhao ki Otāwhiwhi hapū communities, we now declare the names mentioned for these respective hapū as elected Trustees for the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust Boards.

A big mihi to Mr Turi Ngatai of Ngāi Tukairangi/Ngati Kuku and Te Ratahi Cross of Ngāi Tukairangi ki Hungahungatoroa for their years of service!

Elections are required for the remaining hapū communities: Ngāti Hē and Ngāi Tukairangi/Ngāti Kuku. The elections will be conducted by postal and internet voting. Voter packs, together with candidate profiles will be sent to registered and verified adult members of those hapū communities via post and email.

Voting opens on Wednesday 5th November 2025 and only registered adult members of the two hapū communities are eligible to receive a voting pack and vote.

Voting closes at 12 noon, Friday 5th December 2025
