Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi members are invited to apply for a Tertiary Education Grant to assist with their tertiary studies!
Applications open Tuesday 08 February 2022 and close on 23 March 2022.

a reminder that our Annual General Meetings of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust and Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust will be held at Otāwhiwhi Marae this Saturday 26th February 2022 Commencing at 10.00am.

AGENDA
10.00 am - Karakia / Mihi
10.20 am - Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust AGM
11.20 am - Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust AGM
12.00 pm - Kai Hakari

The Marae have COVID-19 restrictions in place, everyone will need to wear a mask, sign in, and be able to show their vaccination pass.

There are options to attend in person, or virtually.

Notice of Ngāi Te Rangi Trustee Election
The board of the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust (NST) and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust (TRONIT) is calling for nominations for 5 Trustee positions on the board.
 
NST is the post settlement governance entity established in 2013 to receive and manage the Tribe’s Treaty Settlement assets. TRONIT was established in 2007 to receive and manage the Tribe’s Fisheries Settlement assets and is also responsible for the delivery of charitable services.
 
Call for nominations
Nominations are now invited to fill the 5 Trustee positions, one for each of the Hapū Communities of Ngāi Te Rangi involved in this election:
 
  • Te Whanau a Tauwhao, Rangiwaea
  • Ngāti Tapu, Waikari
  • Ngāi Tamawhariua, Te Rangihouhiri
  • Te Ngare
  • Ngāti Tauaiti
 
Nominees must be adult (over 18 years) registered members of Ngāi Te Rangi as at Monday 25 September 2017. They must also have chosen the Hapū Community they seek election for as their First Preference on their registration on the Ngāi Te RangI Tribal Register. Nominations must be made on the official Nomination Form available at www.ngaiterangi.com, by phone 07 5753 765 ext 213 or by emailing admin@ngaiterangi.iwi.nz
 
Nominations closing 12pm noon on Monday 25 September 2017

Please go to the Tribal Register at www.ngaiterangi.com to check that your contact details are up to date, particularly your email address. Alternatively, contact the NST office on 07 5753 765 ext 213 or email admin@ngaiterangi.iwi.nz. There are many members with outdated information, so if could encourage others to check their registrations as well

​Te Rangihouhiri began his journey from Whāngārā to Hakurānui to Whakapau Kōrero to Pōporohuamea where he died. Following his death and after many significant battles, his descendants who became known as Ngāi Te Rangi settled in Tauranga Moana.
