Commencing at 10.00am.

 Draft Mauao Historic Reserve Management Plan

The Mauao Trust and Tauranga City Council have established a joint management arrangement for Mauao. Ngā Poutiriao o Mauao is the joint body that leads the management of Mauao.
Jack Thatcher is the Ngāi Te Rangi representative on this body.

The Mauao Historical Reserve Management Plan provides the management framework for Mauao which reflects the needs values and aspirations of Iwi and the Tauranga community and is the first produced under the new joint management.

The first consultation with Tauranga Moana Iwi was held at Huria Marae on the 11th of May, the presentation from this hui (refer to link below).

Submissions and feedback to Ngā Poutiriao o Mauao is due by Tuesday 6 June 2017.  Please feel free to contact our Resource Management unit for further information on (07)5753 765 ext.226

​Te Rangihouhiri began his journey from Whāngārā to Hakurānui to Whakapau Kōrero to Pōporohuamea where he died. Following his death and after many significant battles, his descendants who became known as Ngāi Te Rangi settled in Tauranga Moana.
