COVID Co-ordinator - APPLICATIONS CLOSED

Full Time

The COVID Co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring whānau who contract COVID-19 have support services in place whilst they are in isolation and post-isolation support.

Key tasks:
  • Receiving positive COVID referrals
  • Dispatching to Social Workers for assessments
  • Collating assessments
  • Deploying support services including kai, laundry, medication in a timely fashion
  • Delivering orders when required
  • Following up with additional request
  • Stock takes

Key Responsibilities and Attributes (other duties may be assigned):       
  • Time management
  • Intermediate excel skills
  • Experience working with vulnerable people
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with people and whānau
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with professionals to support access to services for clients
  • An understanding of disability, mental health, and substance abuse
  • Cultural competency and demonstrable knowledge and skill about kaupapa Māori, te reo Māori, Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and Pacifica protocols.
  • Behaviour management / conflict resolution skills.

Te Pae Oranga Co-ordinator - APPLICATIONS CLOSED

Te Pae Oranga Iwi Community Panels are a way that Iwi and NZ Police contribute towards preventing crime and victimisation by delivering a more responsive community focussed service that deals with crime and prevent reoffending.  It’s an approach that holds offenders accountable while also helping them address problems they’re facing.

The Iwi Community Panel process aims to repair the harm caused by the offending promptly using restorative Community Panel processes.  It’s an approach that holds offenders accountable while also helping them address problems they’re facing.
 
Te Pae Oranga is mainly for people who have underlying issues and need help to get their lives back on track. This includes helping them overcome problems like addiction, abuse, financial stress and difficulties getting employment or education.

​Key Tasks:
  • Management of the relevant database(s) including coordinating all actions required to support the service.
  • Provide secretariat duties at TPO meetings and coordinating response action items from team/TPO Panel meetings.
  • Supporting the Manager by providing TPO information when required.
  • Supporting the Personnel/Facilitators by providing information when required.

​Key Responsibilities and Attributes (other duties may be assigned):
 
You will need to be comfortable working with other community partners to build/bridge connections that will support professional project management of the programmes key deliverables.  The successful candidate will be motivated, energetic, and an organised individual capable of developing and implementing innovative strategies to grow and enhance the programme.
  • Ability to use Māori principles, values and can operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting.
  • Have knowledge of Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and Children Young Persons and their Families Act 1989.
  • Knowledge of the jurisdiction system advantageous but not essential.
  • Effective communication skills, including being able to communicate with a wide range of people in a variety of settings.
  • Effective written skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports/minutes for a variety of audiences.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with relevant community organisations and stakeholders.
  • Displays understanding of professional standards (confidentiality, informed consent, maintaining boundaries, etc.)
  • Experience with and/or understanding of the application of technology and social media tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

​Te Rangihouhiri began his journey from Whāngārā to Hakurānui to Whakapau Kōrero to Pōporohuamea where he died. Following his death and after many significant battles, his descendants who became known as Ngāi Te Rangi settled in Tauranga Moana.
