Housing Support Worker – Applications Closed

Full Time 
This role will be based at our Te Maire Site, Waikorire/Pilot bay 
We are looking for an experienced person who can support whānau to stablise the home environment by maintaining tenancy agreements. 
 
Key tasks include: 
  • Working with whānau and tenancy manager to address social and health issues  
  • Advocating for whānau 
  • Working with other organisations to create wrap around support 
 
Key responsibilities and attributes (other duties may be assigned): 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships 
  • Keeping whānau engaged in current housing arrangements 
  • Experience identifying and assessing the social determinants of health and wellbeing, such as poor housing or living conditions, low levels of educational engagement, truancy, unemployment barriers and cultural disconnectedness. 
  • Manage caseload and time and work effectively within a team environment.

Key tasks include: 
  • Work with tangata whaiora in recovery from AOD and mental health 
  • Working with other organisations to create wrap around support 
 
Key responsibilities and attributes (other duties may be assigned): 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships 
  • Good knowledge of mental health 
  • Supporting people to identify and access AOD and/or mental health and community resources to maximise their wellbeing 
  • Working with a harm reduction strategy 
  • Registered Social Worker or working towards registration 
  • Able to manage own client base and keep exception client notes

  • Minimum 12 months clean
