aAre you an enthusiastic social worker pursuing registration for the He Kakano contract?
Would you commit to supporting whānau in identifying the optimal path forward for the well-being of Mokopuna and/or Rangatahi? If this sounds like you, Read on.

  Key tasks incuded: 
  • Collaborating closely with whānau to proactively prevent the need for social services intervention.
  • Assisting whānau in identifying and pursuing the most suitable pathway for their unique circumstances.
  • Facilitating the smooth transition or successful reintegration of Mokopuna/Rangatahi into whānau care.
  • Building strong partnerships with relevant community resources and support networks to maximize positive outcomes for Mokopuna/Rangatahi and their whānau.
  • Implementing effective strategies to enhance the well-being and resilience of whānau throughout the process.​

Key responsibilities and attributes (other duties may be assigned):
  • Enthusiastic about helping the Iwi and the community
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and legislative changes relevant to social work and whānau support.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with people and whānau.
  •  Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with professionals to support access to services for clients.
  •  Advocating for the rights and needs of Mokopuna/Rangatahi, while respecting and honoring their cultural identity and connections.

​Te Rangihouhiri began his journey from Whāngārā to Hakurānui to Whakapau Kōrero to Pōporohuamea where he died. Following his death and after many significant battles, his descendants who became known as Ngāi Te Rangi settled in Tauranga Moana.
